Job descriptionThis position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Software Engineer / Tech Lead Manager, Growth in Canada.
In this role, you will lead a high-impact Growth engineering team responsible for optimizing the entire acquisition funnel, from signup initiation through checkout, for a fast-scaling digital health platform. You will operate as both a technical leader and hands‑on engineer, shaping experimentation systems while actively shipping production code. Your work will directly influence core business metrics such as conversion rate and customer quality, balancing growth velocity with long‑term retention. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and data teams to design, execute, and evaluate A/B experiments across pricing, onboarding, and checkout flows. The environment is fast‑paced, metrics‑driven, and highly iterative, with frequent releases and strong ownership expectations. This is a role for a builder who thrives at the intersection of engineering leadership, experimentation, and revenue‑driven product optimization.
Accountabilities You will lead the Growth engineering function, owning both technical delivery and people leadership while actively contributing to code and system design. You will define and execute the experimentation roadmap for the acquisition funnel, ensuring every change is measurable, data‑informed, and aligned with business outcomes. You will also guide a small engineering team, supporting their growth while ensuring high‑quality execution across full‑stack development and experimentation infrastructure.
Lead and mentor a team of 4–8 engineers, including coaching, performance development, and technical guidance
Own and optimize the end‑to‑end acquisition funnel, including signup, checkout, pricing, and conversion flows
Design and execute A/B experiments with clear metrics, sample sizing, and success criteria
Ship full‑stack features using Ruby on Rails and React/TypeScript across growth initiatives
Build and improve experimentation infrastructure and analytics instrumentation
Partner with product and data teams to track cohort performance and retention guardrails
Drive integration of payment systems and pricing experiments (e.g., Stripe, Klarna)
Promote adoption of AI‑assisted development tools to improve engineering velocity
Requirements This role requires strong technical leadership experience combined with deep hands‑on engineering expertise in growth‑focused, experiment‑driven environments. You should have a proven track record of managing engineering teams while also contributing to production code. Strong understanding of funnel optimization, experimentation design, and subscription‑based business models is essential. You must be comfortable working across backend and frontend systems in a fast‑moving, data‑driven organization.
7+ years of software engineering experience with strong full‑stack capabilities
2+ years of experience leading engineering teams (4–8 engineers or similar scope)
Proven experience running and measuring growth experiments in subscription or SaaS products
Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and React/TypeScript (or equivalent backend/frontend stack)
Solid understanding of experimentation frameworks, metrics design, and cohort analysis
Experience with event‑driven or event‑sourced architectures
Familiarity with payment systems such as Stripe or Klarna is highly desirable
Strong product thinking with the ability to balance conversion and retention trade‑offs
Experience with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Devin) is a plus
Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
Benefits
Fully remote role across Canada and the Americas
Competitive compensation with equity and stock options
Comprehensive medical, dental, and health coverage
Flexible vacation and time‑off policies
Home office and remote work support
Strong emphasis on professional growth and engineering autonomy
Exposure to high‑impact growth experimentation with direct business influence
Opportunity to work with modern AI‑assisted development workflows
Long‑term equity upside and potential liquidity opportunities
