Job descriptionYour Role In Supporting Our Members As a Vice-President (VP), Branch Channel, you will provide strategic leadership to Vancity’s retail branch network, translating enterprise strategy into regional outcomes and ensuring consistently high-quality member experiences across all regions.
This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the EVP, Inclusive Banking & Sustainable Wealth. Candidates must be located in the Vancouver / Lower Mainland region or be willing to relocate.
How You'll Make An Impact
Providing strategic leadership to Vancity’s branch network to deliver market and revenue growth along with service excellence for members
Driving regional and branch performance across service, growth, and operational metrics using clear accountabilities and data-informed decision-making to proactively meet member and community needs
Leading transformational branch-focused change and process improvement initiatives that advance the branch service model of the future in partnership with IT
Developing and executing strategic projects that optimize branch structures, enable modern, scalable service delivery, and respond to evolving member and community needs
Embedding disciplined sales management practices and discovery coaching to enable branch teams to lead effective needs-based conversations, surface opportunities, and connect members with the right expertise across Sustainable Wealth and Commercial Business Banking
Leading and developing Senior Regional Directors as enterprise leaders, strengthening leadership capability, engagement, succession planning, and a high-performance, inclusive culture grounded in equity and accountability
Ensuring effective risk management, compliance, and regulatory oversight across branches, balancing access and innovation with Vancity’s risk tolerance
Collaborating across Inclusive Banking and Sustainable Wealth to align branch priorities with enterprise strategy and values, and to champion impact for our members and communities
Where You’ll Lead And Influence
Providing executive oversight of Vancity’s branch network across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island, comprising more than 50 branches across four regions, ensuring consistent service excellence and alignment to enterprise strategy
Leading and developing a team of Senior Regional Directors, with overall accountability for approximately 700 employees across the branch network, fostering a high‑performance, inclusive, and member‑centred culture
Overseeing a significant retail portfolio, including $17.4B in retail lending and $14.1B in deposits, ensuring strong financial performance, responsible growth, and disciplined risk management
What You’ll Bring To The Team
Post‑secondary education in business, finance, or a related field, with an MBA or equivalent considered an asset
Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in retail banking or financial services, including senior leadership responsibility for multiple branch locations and branch leader
Proven track record of driving regional growth, service excellence, and financial performance in a regulated financial services environment
Demonstrated experience leading branch regional teams and coaching Branch Managers to be strategic, enterprise‑minded leaders while building strong succession
Evidence of transformational leadership with experience leading complex change, including strategic project development and execution across multi-site branch networks
Strong sales leadership capability with a deep understanding of branch operations, including sales management, advice delivery, and service model execution
Sound risk, compliance, and governance acumen, including experience managing regulatory and conduct requirements in retail banking
A collaborative, values‑aligned leadership style that builds inclusive, high‑performance cultures grounded in equity, accountability, and Vancity’s commitments to inclusion and social justice

What You’ll Earn This role offers a salary range of
$204,000 to $240,000 per annum . The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
