Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations, the Director plays a key leadership role and leads all maintenance activities, the planning and scheduling, and Turnaround functions for the organization.
The Director is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of maintenance and Turnarounds across Pembina’s assets, ensuring operational reliability, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and alignment with business objectives. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and asset integrity.
Build, develop, and lead a high performing maintenance team, role modelling inclusive leadership and fostering a culture where diverse perspectives, psychological safety, and accountability drive stronger outcomes.
Develop and execute long‑term maintenance and asset management strategies that support operational excellence and business objectives.
Provide strategic leadership for optimizing costs, workforce, reliability, availability, and lifecycle performance of assets, specifically.
Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, and cross‑functional stakeholders to align maintenance priorities with operational and strategic goals.
Develop and promote knowledge sharing and improvement initiatives within Pembina. Network with industry peers to identify opportunities that will bring a benefit to Pembina.
Manage budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for efficiency, reliability improvements, and value creation.

Ensure emergency maintenance systems are in place for asset failures and operational disruptions.

Qualifications
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in the energy industry, with a strong safety‑first mindset and demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams and develop talent.
Progressive leadership experience leading Maintenance, Reliability, and Turnaround teams, with demonstrated capability to scale leadership scope and influence.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent demonstrated experience through operations, maintenance, or skilled trades leadership.
Strong strategic and operational acumen, with the ability to link maintenance strategy to business outcomes and foster accountability.
Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills, with the credibility to engage all organizational levels and lead change through continuous improvement.
Strong planning and time‑management capabilities, with the ability to anticipate, prioritize, and mitigate operational challenges.
Solid understanding of Canadian and U.S. regulatory and safety requirements for energy infrastructure, with experience supporting compliance programs and emergency response.
Preparedness to support on‑call responsibilities and emergency response activities as required.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
