About The Role We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in Azure Cloud Networking and Fortinet Security Fabric to design, implement, and support secure, high‑availability hybrid network infrastructures. This role requires hands‑on architectural and engineering proficiency across Azure networking components and FortiGate‑based environments. This position is a contract role with the opportunity to move to full‑time.

Key Responsibilities AZURE ARCHITECTURE & CLOUD NETWORKING

Design and implement Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), subnet architectures, and private networking components.

Configure hybrid connectivity using Azure ExpressRoute, route‑based VPNs, and VNet Peering.

Implement secure routing architectures using User Defined Routes (UDRs), Route Tables, and virtual appliances.

Deploy and manage Azure Firewall, Application Gateway WAF, and NSG/ASG security models.

Design and maintain Azure Virtual WAN (vWAN) environments for global‑scale connectivity.

FORTINET SECURITY FABRIC & ON‑PREMISES NETWORKING

Configure and manage FortiGate Next‑Generation Firewalls in HA clusters across data centers and branches.

Design and deploy Fortinet Secure SD‑WAN solutions for optimized branch connectivity.

Integrate FortiGate infrastructure with Azure using BGP, OSPF, and IPSec VPN tunnels.

Manage Fortinet ecosystem components including FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP.

Implement advanced security policies including IPS/IDS, SSL inspection, malware protection, and web filtering.

HYBRID INFRASTRUCTURE & ENTERPRISE CONNECTIVITY

Architect hybrid cloud environments that ensure secure interoperability between on‑prem data centers and Azure.

Ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, and other global security frameworks.

Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues involving routing, firewalls, and cloud connectivity.

Support high‑availability architectures with strong understanding of redundancy, failover, and DR design.

DOCUMENTATION, AUTOMATION & GOVERNANCE

Produce detailed network diagrams, HLDs/LLDs, change documentation, and runbooks.

Automate network provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, or Python when required.

Maintain security baselines, patching standards, and ongoing compliance documentation.

Skills & Attributes

Expert knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, Peering, ExpressRoute, Private Endpoints).

Strong hands‑on experience with FortiGate NGFWs and Secure SD‑WAN.

Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, IPSec, and enterprise routing concepts.

Knowledge of Zero Trust, segmentation models, and cloud security frameworks.

Ability to troubleshoot complex hybrid‑cloud routing scenarios.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Ability to collaborate with engineers, architects, and project teams across geographies.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.

8–12 years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering.

Proven experience designing and implementing Azure network architectures in production.

Hands‑on expertise configuring Fortinet firewalls and SD‑WAN deployments.

Exposure to global enterprise environments; North American experience preferred.

MUST HAVES

Certification:

Fortinet NSE 4 or higher (NSE 7 preferred)

Microsoft AZ‑700 or equivalent Azure networking certification or equivalent experience.

Availability to work 9 AM – 6 PM EST, occasionally India Time Zone for collaboration on projects.
