Job descriptionSenior GC Hotel Renovation Construction Project Manager Next Step Recruitment is looking for a Senior Project Manager with deep, hands‑on experience in Canadian hotel renovations.
About the Role We’re supporting TRIP Contracting—a specialized General Contractor focused exclusively on national hotel renovation programs—on the search for a Senior Project Manager capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, leading both pre‑construction and field execution from end to end.
This is a fast‑paced, operationally complex role that requires someone who can
hit the ground running
in active hotels and lead both
pre‑construction and field execution
from start to finish.
What You’ll Lead
Oversee
3 concurrent hotel renovation projects
(guestrooms, corridors, lobbies, amenities, BOH areas)
Manage full
pre‑construction and estimating , including scope breakdowns, trade packages, takeoffs, budgets, and buyout
Build and maintain detailed
phasing and sequencing plans
aligned with room blocks, shutdown windows, quiet hours, and brand expectations
Lead kickoff, milestone reviews, and turnovers — including
bi‑weekly national travel
to active sites
Work closely with site supers, trades, designers, and hotel GMs/engineering teams
Drive tight schedules, rapid turnovers, and consistent delivery across a high‑volume annual program
Ensure brand‑package compliance, quality execution, and operational coordination in guest‑occupied environments
Who Thrives Here This environment is ideal for someone who is:
Hands‑on, boots‑on‑the‑ground
— comfortable being on site, troubleshooting, and working directly with supers
Skilled at
fast‑cycle, recurring renovation programs
(hotel PIPs, retail rollout, senior living, student housing, etc.)
Excited by
high‑velocity, multi‑project delivery
rather than long‑cycle new builds
Strong in
estimating, pre‑construction, and value engineering
Confident navigating
occupied, revenue‑impact environments
with room blocks, guest flow, shutdowns, etc.
Highly organized, schedule‑driven, and excellent at structured communication
Required Experience Applicants must have
all
of the following:
Experience working
GC‑side
on interior renovation projects
Strong
estimating ownership
– trade‑by‑trade scopes, budgets, and buyouts
Demonstrated success in
occupied or operational renovations
(hotels, senior living, hospitals, student residences, etc.)
Ability to manage
multiple projects at once
in a fast‑paced environment
Experience with
detailed sequencing and phasing
Nice to Have
Experience with Hilton, Marriott, Choice or other brand packages (PIPs, design standards, brand reps)
Multi‑property or multi‑site renovation programs
Strong MEP awareness for operational hotels (shutdowns, tie‑ins, life safety)
