What you will do The
Enterprise Automation Manager
is a strategic technology leader responsible for the design, administration, and advancement of Miller Environmental’s ERP ecosystem and its transition into an AI-enabled enterprise environment. This role goes beyond system support – serving as a key architect of intelligent, data-driven operations that improve compliance, efficiency, visibility, and decision-making.
Acting as a senior liaison between business functions and technology, this position ensures ERP platforms, analytics, automation, and AI tools are aligned with organizational goals, regulatory standards, and long-term digital transformation. The
Enterprise Automation Manager
collaborates with department leaders to modernize processes, reduce manual work, and enable predictive and proactive insights across the business. The development and oversight of digital tools and platforms is managed to streamline business operations, reduce manual tasks, and enhance back-office efficiency at Miller Environmental.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, offering problem-solving, mentorship, and collaboration to help shape IT strategies.
Maintain pulse on emerging technologies, service provider options, and monitor competitor activity to guide innovation.
Establish and oversee long-term technology plans, ensuring that technology is effectively leveraged to achieve business objectives.
Promote the organization’s adoption of automation technologies to build competitive advantage and enhance customer experience, providing guidance and support to business leaders on how to accomplish this.
Lead major system modernization initiatives, transitioning legacy back-office systems to modern platforms that support automation objectives.
Direct both strategic and day-to-day technology operations with a strong focus on delivering excellence, optimizing the use of financial and human resources.
Engage proactively with internal stakeholders and external clients to identify needs and deliver innovative technology solutions.
Collaborate with technology leaders to influence the development of practices, processes, methodologies, and standards that are oriented towards both customer satisfaction and technological advancement.
Design, purchase, or adapt technology solutions and processes that provide clear competitive advantages for business units or the broader organization.
Recruit, retain, and develop talent, fostering a culture of high performance and teamwork that consistently delivers value and positively shapes the broader Technology team environment.
Manage risk and ensure compliance in alignment with Canadian and international governance and standards, and data protection requirements.
What you will need
Postsecondary education in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a closely related discipline.
10+ years’ experience as a technology leader, with a proven track record in either a business unit or a technology-focused role.
5+ years of direct customer-facing technology experience, expertise in automation, and progressive experience supporting ERP or other enterprise business systems.
Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and systems design capabilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required to effectively build relationships and communicate with business leaders, internal stakeholders, and customers.
Demonstrated success navigating complex, matrixed environments and effectively influencing teams and stakeholders without direct authority.
Responsible for designing, purchasing, or adapting technology solutions and processes that deliver a distinct competitive edge to individual business units or enhance the broader organization.
Proven leader with outstanding delivery expertise, strong communication skills, and a talent for building trust and fostering effective collaboration across teams and functions.
Ability to collaborate alongside technology leaders to drive the advancement of practices, processes, methodologies, and standards, ensuring alignment with both customer needs and technological priorities.
