Job Title: Montney Production Engineer Reports to: Montney Production Manager The Production Engineer’s main focus is to add value through optimizing production in our Northern district. He or she will be accountable to drive technical aspects of projects through to completion with a focus on cost execution and delivery deadlines. The Production Engineer must be motivated, committed, and able to work in a fast-paced environment within a high-performance team. Multitasking and priority setting skills will be necessary to manage the schedule-driven workload. Familiarity with different artificial lift systems, compression and oil treating facilities is required for the role. Must work closely with the Operations team to lower operating expenses, increase volumes, and facilitate long-term value creation in the asset. Lastly, reporting on and ensuring that our new development wells are optimized quickly and meeting type curve will be a priority. Responsibilities
of this role include, but are not limited to: Lead well reviews to find production opportunities and manage execution of optimization initiatives and projects – recompletes, reactivations, artificial lift, downhole intervention, compression, etc. Evaluate raw gathering system performance to identify bottlenecks in development planning while Aid in development and management of capital and operating expense budgets and production forecasts. There is a strong focus on capital efficiency and reducing workover cost. Oversee management of workovers, suspensions, restoration schedules Maintain a high level of communication with field staff on downtime, optimization, construction, turnarounds, etc. Daily communication with the Area Foremen and Lead Operators is part of the role Evaluate wells and facilities for asset retirement, working closely with the ARO Coordinator to meet regulatory spend requirements and priorities. Work closely with Facility group and EPCM contractor on facility equipment design Support the company’s MOC (Management of Change) process. Ensure the MOC process is adhered to and work with the Facility team to properly deliver said projects Development of Project Initiation Forms (PIF) to properly scope facility additions and modifications Maintain a high level of communication with production accounting, ensuring production operations procedures are aligned and within tolerance of EPAP and Directive 017 requirements Review and report on weekly production volume variances and estimates. Mentor junior members of the Operations Team Correspondence with partners and regulatory bodies as required; quickly address any field inspection concerns Support enforcement of the corporate Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Programs Qualifications
(Desired Skills and Experience): Greater than 10 years of experience in production and operations roles in the Oil and Gas industry Must have experience in the Deep Basin, Peace River Arch or Northern BC and Montney. Dunvegan experience is considered an asset P.ENG. or Certified Engineering Technologist will be considered. PMP would be an added benefit Familiar with multiple Oil and Gas facilities, infrastructure, pipelines, and artificial lift systems Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are required. Should be able to effectively identify and address well, field and plant performance issues. Familiar with regulatory requirements in Alberta Experience working with engineering and construction contractors Familiar with PMI practices and principals Goal-oriented and capable of meeting deadlines Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-focused skills with the ability to demand results Strong commitment to team dynamics and team performance with a cross functional view Experience with software like Geoscout, Piper, Whitson, AFE Execute, Prodman, SROD, etc. is needed Should be familiar with Microsoft suite of tools including Teams and Power BI. Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint will be considered an asset. Must be legally permitted to work in Canada Must be willing and able to travel and work in the field with a class 5 drivers’ licence and a clean record Benefits
