About The Role Reporting to the Associate Manager, Logistics Engineering, the ILS Analyst will be responsible for developing the maintenance and support solution for Wescam’s portfolio of MX‑Series products and associated Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance mission system equipment, conducting ILS tasks throughout all phases of a product’s life cycle including development projects, delivery programs or in‑service product sustainment.
Primary Responsibilities
Analyze electro‑optical infra‑red sensor systems and associated mission equipment, determining requirements for tools, test equipment, spare parts and consumables
Develop repair, troubleshooting, testing and alignment procedures for incorporation into technical manuals and use by Wescam service centers, self‑maintaining customers and other 3rd party service centers
Develop and publish technical manual content including maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, spares and repair parts, technical illustrations
Produce the maintenance and support plans for global support of equipment and systems
Assist in defining the support concept and establishing the resources required to maintain the company’s products
Develop packaging, handling, storage, transportation requirements
Prepare spare parts provisioning requirements
Support senior ILS Analysts in implement product sustainment tasks
Gather data and assist department managers to support new business proposals
Address supportability issues as a member of New Product Introduction and program execution teams
Interface with Customer Service group (CSG) In‑service Support, Field Service, Product Service, Training, wider engineering dept, CSG Repair, PMO and other disciplines
Support generation of technical data deliverables and reports
Report progress to Manager or ILS project lead.
Support departmental process improvement initiatives, and other activities as assigned
Required Capabilities
Skilled in the maintenance and repair of Electro‑Optical equipment is highly desirable.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, product and system specifications and CAD models and transcribe into step-by-step repair procedures is an asset
Familiarity with military Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) processes, tools and standards is an asset but not an absolute prerequisite as training will be provided for the right candidate.
Excellent analytical, communication, writing and problem solving skills
Knowledge of S1000D standard is an asset
Ability to develop CAD (Solidworks) drawings to create technical illustrations is desirable
Skilled user of Microsoft Office tools with emphasis on Word, Excel and MS Project
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Experiences
Minimum 3 years hands‑on workshop level experience in the troubleshooting repair and testing of electro‑optical equipment, or similar electronic/electrical equipment is highly desirable
2 years of Logistics Engineering experience in a defense industry ILS environment is highly desirable
Experience in procedure development related to manufacturing, repair or testing
Practical understanding of outputs from Reliability, Maintainability, Availability analyses for logistic analysis purposes is an asset
Knowledge and preferably application of military logistic processes and standards, including MIL‑STD‑1388‑2B, GEIA 0007, MIL‑PRF‑49506, S‑series specifications or DEF‑STAN 00‑60 is an asset.
Knowledge of Simplified Technical English (ASD‑STE100) is an asset.
Ability to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods Program clearance
This posting is for a current vacancy. In the province of Ontario, Canada, the pay range for this position will be $75,500 to $125,500
