The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for performing electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work related to all electrical systems including fire alarm, emergency lighting, and security systems. This position has technical expertise in both low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems, ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. and wiring on both surface and concealed applications. Perform installations, repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance of all electrical systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and security systems. Ensure all electrical work complies with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and relevant CAN/ULC standards. Provide guidance and training to new or junior employees in accordance with company standards. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used. Adhere to all safety codes, building regulations, and company policies. Must have a 309A Electrician Construction & Maintenance License. Prior experience working with commercial, residential, and industrial electrical systems. Preferred experience with fire alarm, emergency lighting, and security systems. Ability to travel occasionally outside the assigned regional territory. Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, stand prolonged periods of time, lift 35 lbs, and other requirements common to a CFAA Technician. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements. Overnight travel may be required. Differentiate color coding of cables.
