About the Opportunity
The Manager works with the Zone Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiac Investigation, the DI Medical Department Head, and local DI and Cardiac Investigative Specialist Physicians to facilitate the daily administrative and clinical operations of the Department and to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and efficient DI/CIU services.
The Manager is accountable for the effective operation of assigned areas of responsibility. The Manager works in a co-leadership relationship with the designated Medical Lead and/or Lead Radiologist for assigned areas/facilities.
The manager is accountable for Diagnostic Imaging at three sites on the South Shore:
- South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater
- Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg
- Queens General Hospital, Liverpool
The manager is accountable for Cardiac Investigations at two sites on the South Shore:
- South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater
- Queens General Hospital, Liverpool

About You
- Graduate of an approved undergraduate degree or diploma program in Medical Imaging Technology or Cardiology Technology, supplemented by additional formal management and/or leadership training.
Credentialed with Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists, or other imaging-related credentialing body. - Licensed to practice (or eligible) by the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals or the Cardiology Technologists of Nova Scotia
- 3-5 years of recent relevant supervisory/managerial experience, demonstrating progressive development of financial, strategic and people management skills Leadership, organizational and decision skills in support of patient, family and client-centred diagnostic imaging and/or non-invasive cardiac investigative services.
- Knowledge in field to help inform strategy development and organizational planning.
- Experience in financial planning and management.
- Evidence-based collaborative problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Well-developed organizational, networking, negotiation and change management skills.
- Understanding of the principles of project management with demonstrated ability to lead work teams.
- The following would be considered an asset:
- Masters Level Degree in health related discipline, health administration, business administration or related subject.
- Certified Health Executive designation with Canadian College of Health Leaders
- Equivalent combinations of experience and/or alternative education shall be considered.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Compensation and Benefits
$47.39 - $63.09 hourly
