Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; a CPA designation or active progress toward one is an asset.
- Minimum three years of relevant corporate accounting experience, ideally within a large or multi-location organization.
- Experience supporting both Canadian and U.S. entities is preferred.
- Experience in nationwide distribution, construction materials, or a related industry is a strong asset.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles; experience with ASPE is preferred, and familiarity with U.S. GAAP is an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including lookup functions, PivotTables, and macros.
- Experience with ERP systems and a demonstrated interest in process optimization and automation.
- Solid understanding of financial statement preparation, account reconciliation, sales tax compliance, internal controls, and audit processes.
