Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director, Financial modelling of GRMI (Group Risk Management – Insurance), the incumbent will gain exposure to the asset liability management framework.  The role primarily support the team on asset modelling and the discount rate (DR) production process.  The role also assists in the quantification of monthly ALM transactions and the implication to the DR process.

What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Associate Director, Financial modelling of GRMI (Group Risk Management – Insurance), the incumbent will gain exposure to the asset liability management framework.  The role primarily support the team on asset modelling and the discount rate (DR) production process.  The role also assists in the quantification of monthly ALM transactions and the implication to the DR process.

What will you do?

  • Assist in the monthly DR production and quantification of ALM trades in AXIS, including asset data checking and reconciliation in GGY AXIS.
  • Assist in annual economic assumption changes.
  • Provide support to internal / external teams for quarterly / annually reports such as LICAT, risk reports, AAR, materials for Board, etc.
  • Support the identification, development, and implementation of enhancements to existing DR process, methodologies and frameworks.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree (or above) majoring in Actuarial Science or Statistics with a minimum 3 SOA exams
  • Prior experience on GGY AXIS is required (especially AXIS datalink), excel VBA and R
  • ALM / Investment working experience and knowledge would be preferred but not required.
  • Strong problem solving and technical skills, be able to investigate issues and provide suggestions
  • Self-motivated and attention to details
