Structural Design & Analysis (Core Function)
Perform structural modeling and analysis for:
Aluminum framing systems
Outdoor enclosure structures
Analyze:
Wind loads
Snow loads
Live loads
Connections and stress points
Validate designs for:
Safety
Performance
Code compliance
Engineering Documentation & Permitting
Prepare:
Structural calculations
Engineering packages
Supporting documentation
Support permitting process:
Work with licensed engineers (P.Eng / P.E.) for stamping
Ensure compliance with local codes
Design Translation (Critical Skill)
Review:
Architectural drawings
Site plans
Translate concepts into:
Buildable structural systems
Work closely with:
Sales (early concept)
Drafting (detailed drawings)
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with:
Sales understand intent
Drafting ensure accuracy
Production ensure manufacturability
Solve problems like:
“This won’t fabricate efficiently”
“This connection won’t work in the field”
Product Development (R&D Component)
Contribute to:
New structural systems
Product improvements
Test:
Performance (simulation or physical)
Optimize:
Materials
Cost
Manufacturability
Site Visits & Real-World Validation
Occasionally visit job sites to:
Assess conditions
Troubleshoot issues
Provide recommendations
What you must have:
Have 3–5 years of experience in:
Structural engineering
Product design engineering
Building systems / construction engineering
Have hands-on experience with:
Structural analysis
CAD/design tools
Understand:
Building codes
Permitting process
Have worked on real-world buildable structures
Salary/Rate Range: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00
