You will be responsible for developing and advancing biodiversity projects with the goal of delivering sustainable services that are aligned with the needs and aspirations of First Nations.
As a Coordinator, you will ensure the achievement of objectives set with your team members, whose work focuses on monitoring wildlife and plant populations, habitat restoration (including Atlantic salmon habitats), and ecotoxicology.
Ensure the delivery and quality of projects, deliverables, and expected outcomes by team members within their respective mandates.
Consult with team members to track progress and ensure the targeted projects are delivered within the established timelines and in line with priorities.
Coordinate certain activities related to the project's submission process as well as reporting requirements under your responsibility.
Prepare and present action plans (including strategies, budgets where applicable, timelines, etc.) for your area of activity to management.
Manage your team’s financial resources and budgets efficiently.
In close collaboration with team members, ensure ongoing monitoring and knowledge gathering on relevant topics.
Ensure compliance with agreements, internal standards, and procedures.
Depending on the sector’s workload and the nature of the mandates, maintain an appropriate balance between direct project delivery and coordination responsibilities.
Human Resources Management
Plan, delegate, and coordinate the work to be carried out among team members.
Participate in the recruitment process.
Conduct evaluations and ensure the training and professional development of team members.
Do you have what it takes?
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant environmental field
3 years of experience in project management and/or team management
Knowledge of the issues, priorities, perspectives, and aspirations of First Nations
Availability to travel occasionally throughout Quebec and to First Nations communities
Strong oral and written communication skills, both in French and English
Relevant work experience with First Nations or an Indigenous organization (major asset)
Knowledge of an Indigenous language (asset)
