About École de musique du Marché
We are one of Montréal's largest independent music schools — a bilingual, warm, and professional community of 25 academically trained teachers serving 400+ active students every week, from ages 3 to 78. Since 2016, we've carried forward the 60-year legacy of Italmelodie, the legendary Little Italy music institution. We are located at 288 rue Jean-Talon Est, 2 minutes from the Jean-Talon metro, in the heart of the historic Jean-Talon Market.
About the Role
We are accepting applications year-round from music teachers across every instrument we offer:
Piano, guitar, violin, voice, drums, bass (electric and upright), ukulele, saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, mandolin, recorder, solfège (music theory), and éveil musical (preschool music / musical awakening for ages 3–5).
As a teacher here, you will:
• Teach private lessons tailored to each student's level, goals, and pace
• Work with students from beginner to advanced, from age 3 to 78+
• Prepare students for milestones including RCM exams and Cégep auditions
• Contribute to our annual Christmas concert at Casa d'Italia each December
• Be part of a collaborative team of 25 professional musicians
Why Teach With Us

• Supportive team — a community of 25 professional musicians who support each other
• Diverse students — all ages, backgrounds, and musical interests
• Central location — 2 minutes from Jean-Talon metro, in the heart of Jean-Talon Market
• Room to grow — build your student base in an environment that values your expertise

"Teaching here feels like being part of a real family of musicians. The atmosphere is warm, students are motivated, and the team truly supports each other." — Team member since 2019
What We're Looking For
