Job description
Project Engineer to oversee electrical installations and maintenance of equipment within YVR
Pay Rate $85.00hr

Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management & Execution
• Manage execution of customer projects according to company processes and governance standards.
• Lead cross functional project teams including design, planning, procurement, order management, and field services.
• Establish project plans, milestones, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Conduct project kickoff meetings (internal and customer facing
• Ensure work orders and site activities are properly planned and aligned with overall project deliverables.
• Identify technical risks, deviations, and potential change orders.
• support margin improvement.
• Ensure proper project closure, documentation archiving, and lessons learned.

Responsibilities
3. Technical Engineering & Design
• Provide technical design, knowledge and knowhow for customers in Power Distribution, automation and digital applications
• Reviewing and checking drawings to ensure that they meet the technical needs of the client and that they adhere to industry standards for reliability and safety; as a certified Professional Engineer, responsibilities include certifying project work as meeting the regulatory requirements of the client’s specified engineering association. Working with other team members, contractors and consultants to resolve technical issues and ensure the quality and integrity of engineering design executions.
• Ability to generate and foster client relationships while working in a fast paced and competitive business environment.
• Comfortable working with an engineering team, clients and staff assigned to projects.

4. Safety, Quality & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards for engineering and field execution.
• Monitor and maintain quality of engineering deliverables and installation work.
5. Financial & Commercial Responsibilities
• Support project budgets, spending, and cost control to ensure profitability.
• Support forecasting, billing milestones, and revenue recognition.
• Validate contractual requirements (payments, guarantees, scope, specifications).
• Ability to lead cross functional teams and coordinate engineering + field activities.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills.
• Customer oriented mindset with strong relationship building capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Experience in project management tools (MS Project, Excel).
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical power distribution, protection, and Automation engineering.
• Experience in generating, reviewing and optimizing engineering deliverables; single line drawings, layouts, schedules, routings, distribution and motor control schemes, as well as inter-connection diagrams for power and grounding systems.
• Experience in preparing specifications and bid analyses for equipment such as , LV and MV switchgear, transformers, cables, UPS, protection relays, power management systems and distribution/panel boards, etc.

Qualifications
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation preferred.
• Additional project management training/certification (PMP) is an asset

Doesn't need a P- Eng but would be nice, this role is more focused on he Maintenance piece of the project stage
