This includes managing and optimizing email services, maintaining high availability, and supporting secure communications across the enterprise. In addition to Exchange, this Administrator will also manage other M365-related services (including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Copilot and Power Platform) working collaboratively with team members to ensure seamless operations and business continuity.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversee all aspects of Exchange Online, including mailbox management, distribution groups, shared mailboxes, mail flow rules, retention policies, spam and malware filtering, and hybrid configurations.
  • Manage accounts and permissions within the Microsoft 365 and Exchange admin centers, and Azure Active Directory, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • In-depth knowledge of Exchange Server versions, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation of Exchange and M365 administrative tasks, improving efficiency and consistency.
  • Provide expert-level support for Exchange issues.
  • Assist, and provide guidance to users and line management, both within and outside of the division.
  • Manage other M365 services (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.), assisting end-users and collaborating with other administrators as needed.
  • Implement and monitor security measures for Exchange, including anti-phishing, DLP, eDiscovery, retention policies, and multi-factor authentication.
  • Support organizational compliance initiatives across all M365 services.
  • Utilize Microsoft 365 admin tools and PowerShell scripts to monitor system health, execute purges, generate usage and performance reports, and proactively address potential issues or updates which may impact the tenant.
  • Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of use of products, systems, or databases in production, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Resolve emergency problems under time constraints, identify latent (underlying or recurring) problems, and implement changes or workarounds to eliminate or mitigate their impact.
  • Complete root cause analysis for major incidents and prepare detailed written reports documenting findings and corrective actions.
  • Stay up to date with the latest M365 features and best practices.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Exchange and M365 administration and related processes.
  • Advise and assist users concerning the production use of systems and products.
  • Implement and document enhancements and changes to meet new user needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other M365 administrators
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certifications, Administrator Associate, or other relevant to Administrator Expert MS-102) are highly desirable.
  • Requires experience to be able to define users' information technology requirements for all but the most complex problems, and to design, develop, acquire, and implement the required systems, databases, and information technology products and related services.
  • Requires experience to understand new and existing information processing concepts, computer and communications equipment, and software.
  • Requires a knowledge of the principles of computing equipment, methods, systems analysis and design, data management, work simplification, communications, and computer programming to enable creative logical reasoning regarding the design and effective use of systems and databases, computer programming activities, and related matters.
  • Requires a knowledge of computer science to gain an appreciation of design concepts related to computing equipment and software, in order to provide computerized solutions to varying OPG requirements.

The successful candidate will exhibit uncompromising integrity and commitment to upholding corporate values, and the OPG Code of Business Conduct.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. Maintaining a high-performance culture and excellence is a core expectation of every member of our leadership team and is rewarded through the established compensation framework.

OPG is committed to employment equity. As such, we encourage applicants from equity-seeking communities (Indigenous Peoples, racialized persons, persons with disabilities, and women). We strongly believe that alleviating the under-representation of equity-seeking individuals will create a stronger OPG team and allow us to better serve the needs of our diverse communities.

In order to fulfill the above-mentioned purpose, priority in hiring may be given to qualified persons who self-identify as a member of equity-seeking groups as identified in the application process.
