Role purpose

The Director, Product Management – Assurance is a leader within the Assurance Technology product organisation, responsible for guiding and developing a team of Product Owners who deliver the digital tools for the Grant Thornton global network of member firms. This role combines strategic product leadership with deep audit domain expertise to ensure our solutions align with the real-world workflow, judgment, documentation, and quality expectations of financial statement auditors. This leader will be a critical bridge between the Assurance practice needs and technology execution while coaching Product Owners, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement across requirements, backlog management and issue resolution.

  • Oversee UAT execution across feature releases, ensuring scenarios reflect real audit workflows and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure identified defects are validated, prioritised, and incorporated into upcoming feature and maintenance releases
  • Partner with Quality Assurance (QA) to facilitate Product Owner requirements knowledge transfer sessions, test case reviews and testing approaches
  • Participate in bug triage analysis, applying audit-domain judgment to determine severity and guide resolution priorities/timelines

Requirements Definition

  • Work closely with stakeholders, including member firms, and internal teams to gather and prioritise product requirements
  • Guide Product Owners in producing clear, complete and auditor-centric requirements
  • Identify requirements that involve/impact audit methodology, judgement-based workflows, or high-risk audit areas that require a deep dive analysis of requirements with applicable subject matter experts

Product Development

  • Drive the agile development process, ensuring timely delivery of features, enhancements and bug fixes
  • Work closely with engineering, architecture, security, and support teams to prioritise and manage the product backlog
  • Continuously analyse product performance and member firm engagement to identify opportunities for optimisation and improvements
  • Establish and monitor key product metrics and user feedback to identify areas for improvement

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, support, design and member firm Assurance technology teams to ensure a cohesive and successful product development process
  • Facilitate communication between teams to address challenges and ensure alignment with product goals
