Your Tasks
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, R&D, and EHS teams to support the mechanical performance, reliability, and safety of production machinery and mechanical systems.
- Assist in preparing computer‑assisted design (CAD) engineering designs, drawings and specifications.
- Participate in the design, review, and interpretation of mechanical layouts, equipment drawings, and technical specifications for new or modified machinery.
- Develop, revise, and maintain mechanical procedures, SOPs, equipment operation instructions, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with engineering and safety standards.
- Collect mechanical performance data, conduct tests and analyses of machines, assist in root cause investigations, and identify mechanical inefficiencies affecting equipment capability and production output.
- Prepare Requests for Quotations (RFQs) for mechanical equipment and tooling, including drafting mechanical specifications, reviewing vendor documentation, and supporting cost and feasibility assessments.
- Coordinate with mechanical equipment suppliers to ensure technical requirements, engineering specifications, and project timelines are met, and prepare cost and material estimates, project schedules, and technical reports to support mechanical equipment procurement and project execution.
- Support mechanical design improvements by evaluating equipment performance, recommending modifications, and assisting in the development of mechanical components, tooling, fixtures, and assemblies.
- Support project teams by providing technical documentation, equipment data, testing support, and hands‑on assistance during process and equipment improvement activities.
- Provide hands‑on mechanical support for production equipment by troubleshooting issues, implementing corrective actions, and assisting with improvements to equipment, tooling, and mechanical configurations to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
- Participate in the installation, mechanical testing, commissioning, and ongoing support of production machinery and manufacturing equipment.
Requirements
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical, manufacturing, or process support roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Instrument Transformers experience required – must have direct, hands‑on exposure to instrument transformer equipment, components, or manufacturing processes, with a solid understanding of their mechanical design, operation, or testing requirements.
- Self‑motivation with the ability to work independently.
- Previous project management experience is an asset.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, exhibiting a strong sense of urgency.
- Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Advanced AutoCAD proficiency.
- Knowledge and familiarity with SAP are required.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency Act, we are committed to providing clear and accessible information about compensation for this role. The expected compensation range for this position is CAD $70,000 – $90,000 / Annually. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on several job‑related factors, including relevant education, depth and breadth of experience, professional certifications or license, specialized skills aligned with the role, and internal equity considerations.
