Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor project‑specific Quality Control (QC) plans, procedures, and checklists.
- Coordinate and conduct inspections, audits, and testing of materials, workmanship, and subcontractor performance.
- Review and verify compliance of construction activities with drawings, specifications, codes, and contract requirements.
- Preparation and issuance of non‑conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions, and follow‑up, ensuring timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of inspections, test results, certifications, and quality reports.
- Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to project teams regarding quality processes and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying trends, recommending corrective measures, and implementing lessons learned.
- Ensure all QA/QC documentation is prepared for project closeout and turnover packages.
- Performing visual examinations, witnessing, monitoring, and/or documenting as per project quality and inspection testing plans.
- Liaising with Owner representatives and consultants on quality related items.
- Monthly written quality reports
Qualifications
- Post‑secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (CET designation an asset).
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in quality control/quality assurance in heavy civil infrastructure or large‑scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction standards, codes, and specifications.
- Experience managing QC programs, conducting inspections, and coordinating with consultants and regulatory agencies.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate employees.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities with a proactive, detail‑oriented approach.
- Familiarity with digital quality management systems and document control software is considered an asset.
