Rate: $38-$42
Location: Remote, EST Hours
Employment: 6-Month Contract w/ Possibilities for Extension or Conversion
Insight Global is seeking a Frontend Developer skilled in Flutter for one of Canada's largest independent retailers. The successful candidate will be working on the store systems team to support the modernization of their in‑house POS system used across hundreds of stores. We're looking for someone who's comfortable with hardware integrations (scanners, printers, PIN pads), building offline-first UIs, and optimizing for performance and stability in long-running store sessions. Strong with Flutter’s native state/UI architecture and resilient API consumption in unreliable networks. The developers will work in a fluid, collaborative environment, helping design resilient, offline‑capable UIs for retail settings.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong Flutter/Dart experience across mobile and desktop platforms (not mobile‑only)
- Flutter desktop experience or working knowledge of .NET/C# and Linux/Unix environments
- Solid understanding of Flutter’s native state and UI architecture
- Experience building retail or POS‑style front ends (sales, returns, inventory, operations)
- Ability to build offline‑tolerant, resilient UIs for store environments
- Experience consuming backend APIs in unreliable network conditions
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Familiarity with hardware / HID integration (scanners, printers, PIN pads)
