Job description

The Clinic Volunteer plays a vital role in executing a variety of engaging activities tailored to the needs of children and youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other learning and developmental delays.

The Clinic Volunteer will help create a safe, organized, and positive camp environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and skill development while accommodating behavioral challenges. Location and duration July 21 – September 4 (Closed July 1 & Aug 3) 8AM to 4pm, Monday to Friday Clinic based: Choose from Burnaby / Burquitlam / Port Coquitlam Key Responsibilities: Coordinate diverse daily activities, creating an engaging and supportive atmosphere Aid in picking activities, motivating team participation and imaginative thinking. Proactively encourage positive behavior and teamwork, addressing behavioral challenges as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe activity environment at all times. Provide professional, positive, and respectful communication updates regarding behavior to caregivers Qualifications: We encourage current university students pursuing careers in Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Behaviour Analysis, Education, Early Childhood Development or Psychology. Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening and legally authorized to work in Canada Experience in program coordination, recreationally-centered or community-based work is an asset. Experience working with a group of children with diverse needs is an asset.
