Apprentice Mechanical Assembler on behalf of our client in North Bay, ON. This role is responsible for assembling a wide range of mechanical and hydraulic components in accordance with engineering requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
You will inspect, test, and verify subassemblies and completed products to ensure they meet product specifications, while fully adhering to company policies, ISO 9001 quality standards, and all applicable safety requirements.

Responsibilities: - Interpret and follow engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics to assemble and install mechanical and hydraulic systems, circuits, and components
- Construct, align, and install manufactured or purchased parts into subassemblies or completed assemblies according to mechanical drawings or instructions from the Assembly Supervisor
- Build hydraulic assemblies, including proper hose routing, and fabricate hoses and fittings based on schematics, specifications, or direction from the Assembly Supervisor
- Safely operate pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical tools in compliance with safety guidelines and best practices
- Operate material handling equipment such as overhead and gantry cranes, following proper rigging and load-handling procedures
- Inspect and verify quality, performance, and functionality of assemblies and finished products prior to completion
- Perform minor modifications, adjustments, or repairs to assemblies or completed products when required
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to identify and report non-conformances and support corrective action implementation
- Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with housekeeping and 5S standards
- Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and apply mechanical and hydraulic assembly principles
- Comply with all regulatory requirements and company health and safety policies
- Follow ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements and procedures
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, productivity, and product performance
- Maintain flexibility to support and train in other departments as operational needs arise
Qualifications and Skills: - 421A Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice - Level 2 or 3
- 2-4 years of experience working on heavy-duty mobile equipment, including construction, mining, or industrial machinery
- Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification or equivalent
- Experience maintaining construction or mining equipment (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, cranes)
- Experience with hydraulic and electrical integration and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with equipment telematics systems and remote diagnostic tools
- Knowledge of OEM service bulletins and equipment-specific repair manuals
- Strong hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing:
- Diesel engines
- Hydraulic systems
- Brake systems
- Transmissions
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment (e.g., OBD-II scanners, diagnostic software, multimeters, hydraulic testers)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate heavy-duty vehicles and machinery
- Basic welding and fabrication skills are considered an asset
- Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
