Job description

The Role

Our client, a reputable organization operating in the construction and manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Accounting Administrator for a 2-month temporary assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who can step in quickly and provide strong support to a busy finance team.

The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and a strong background in reconciliations and month-end support. ERP experience is highly preferred, and familiarity with Oracle is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Post daily banking transactions accurately and on time
  • Prepare and complete weekly bank reconciliations for main treasury accounts
  • Monitor and reconcile intracompany accounts, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate issue resolution
  • Compile and prepare monthly sales tax filings, including Ontario HST, BC PST, SK PST, and other applicable tax remittances
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations, analysis, and reporting
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, and Project Management teams
  • Analyze and post monthly journal entries while identifying process improvements
  • Assist with month-end close activities and other accounting duties as required

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of accounting or finance administration experience required
  • Strong experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and tax filings
  • Advanced Excel skills are mandatory (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, reporting functions)
  • ERP system experience required; Oracle experience is an asset
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
