Description
The Data Acquisition Engineer will be responsible for setting up and conducting data acquisition using various data acquisition systems. This involves coordinating test specimen build, setting up data acquisition systems, data processing, communicating with stakeholders. As part of the core responsibilities, the Data Acquisition Engineer will be required to have a detailed understanding of the data acquisition systems and various transducers used and how they interact as well as CAN communication. The ability to operate and conduct data acquisition at company grounds The successful candidate will be a process and detail-oriented individual with a proven ability to lead projects from start to finish with minimal guidance. Additionally, good communication and leadership skills are required to coordinate and instruct bargaining unit mechanics in performing vehicle instrumentation, part strain gauging and part changes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/industrial/Aeronautical Engineering required from an accredited university. • Minimum of 2-5 years of engineering experience within a testing environment within the automotive industry. • Experience with data acquisition equipment using various transducers including wheel force transducers, accelerometers, load cells and strain gages. • Understanding of damage severity analysis and stress-life/load-life calculations. • Competent with the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VBA. • Strong time management, leadership, planning and follow up skills. • Excellent written and oral skills. • Experience working in a unionized environment.
