What will your typical day look like?

Deloitte's Global independence is seeking a Senior Manager to join our Global Independence team—a strategic role that directly shapes how Deloitte professionals operate across our global network.

In this position, you'll be at the forefront of independence policy development, quality control enhancement, and regulatory compliance. You'll work alongside senior leaders, influence audit quality standards, and help protect and enhance the Deloitte brand through expert guidance on complex independence matters.

In this role you will:

Lead Independence Policy Development that Enables the Business

  • Support the Director of Policy in drafting updates to DPM 1420 (Deloitte’s Independence Policy Manual) in response to regulatory changes and emerging standards
  • Partner with ‘Global Audit and Assurance’ and ‘Deloitte US’ to develop, refine, and implement independence policies, forms, and practice aids for PCAOB, ISA, and sustainability audits
  • Drive updates to Deloitte's audit platforms (Omnia and Levvia) to ensure independence requirements are current, practical, and embedded in our tools

Lead Complex Cross-Border Consultations

  • Serve as a key contact and coordinate cross-border independence consultations on challenging issues, including breach resolution and remediation strategies.
  • Facilitate communication between Deloitte firms’ independence teams, ensuring consistent policy application
  • Mediate disputes and drive resolution in complex cross-border scenarios

Strengthen Quality Controls Across the Network in EMEA

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of independence quality controls operated by EMEA firms, identifying enhancement opportunities
  • Provide actionable feedback and recommendations to help the Deloitte EMEA firms strengthen their quality management systems
  • Develop innovative quality control materials and tools that enable firms to enhance their systems under ISQM1 and QC1000

Build Thought Leadership & Drive Knowledge Transfer

  • Develop and deliver compelling independence technical training for regional independence trainings and quarterly global webcasts
  • Position yourself and Global Independence as a thought leader on independence matters through engaging presentations and educational content
  • Mentor independence professionals across the network and contribute to their professional development

Support Strategic Initiatives

  • Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by Global Independence leadership

About the team

Global Risk & Brand Protection protects, preserves and enhances the Deloitte brand. We navigate the dynamic risk landscape across the areas of risk management, confidentiality & privacy, cyber security oversight, regulatory, independence & conflicts, and Anti-Corruption/financial crimes. We foster trusting relationships across the Deloitte network through collaboration, facilitation and responsive guidance.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting, risk management, or independence functions (Big 4 or equivalent preferred).
  • Deep expertise in independence standards: IESBA, SEC, and PCAOB requirements.
  • Proven experience with audit and control review processes and quality management frameworks.
  • Strong project management skills — ability to manage multiple priorities, organize complex initiatives, and deliver results.
