Program Overview:

Co-op Analysts will participate in a one-week training and orientation program and are assigned to a specific Investment Banking product or industry group during the program. In addition to this on-the-job experience, the program includes the opportunity to network across various business groups, learn about the culture of BMO Capital Markets, participate in training and learning seminars, and obtain career guidance from dedicated mentors.

Responsibilities:

As an Investment Banking Co-op Analyst at BMO Capital Markets, you will gain valuable exposure to a wide number of industries and work with a variety of financial products, including public and private debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory. Responsibilities can include:

• Running valuation analyses;
• Performing complex financial modeling;
• Conducting industry and company research and analysis;
• Developing client presentations;
• Writing internal and external marketing memoranda;
• Performing other tasks supporting client relationships and business development.

This position is located in Vancouver and ideally suited to talented, highly motivated individuals who seek to build a solid, comprehensive foundation in the basic skills of investment banking.

Qualifications:

As an Analyst you will be part of a dynamic investment banking environment. We are looking for highly motivated, mature individuals with:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with academic course work in finance, economics, or accounting; graduating in December 2027, or Spring 2028
• Proven track record of excellent academic standing, extra curricular participation and demonstrated interest in finance
• An interest in metals and mining is strongly preferred
• Preference will be given to those students in their 2nd or 3rd co-op term with a concentration in finance, accounting, economics, engineering and math (statistics)

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
