JOB OVERVIEW
OPG is looking for a dedicated, results-driven and dynamic professional to join our team in the role of Civil Maintainer - Scaffolder.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance, this position will work in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations and will perform civil and materials management trade duties to build, maintain and repair associated structures and equipment while working within nuclear properties.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Install, fabricate, commission, inspect, troubleshoot, service, and maintain, test and overhaul minor mechanical equipment and components associated with buildings and structures. Take appropriate preventative or corrective action.
- Perform tasks on scaffolding as well as designs, erects and dismantles all types of scaffolding. Fabricates, installs and repairs all types of roofing, flashings, duct work and insulation.
- Maintains, operates and uses power tools, equipment and hand tools related to Civil Maintenance functions to carry out work assignments.
- Operate forklifts, mobile and stationary cranes and trucks required to carry out work assignments.
- Be knowledgeable of radiation protection and the use of contamination control equipment to protect self and prevent the spread of contamination in the work environment.
- Perform housekeeping activities as required.
- Receive, store, issue, deliver and ship materials, tools and equipment. Perform physical inventory verifications and reconciliation of inventory variances.
- Inspect, test, fit and maintain safety equipment.
- Accountable for the health, safety and well-being of self and others, in accordance with technical/ operating procedures and standards.

EDUCATION
- Have a minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Tube and Clamp Scaffolding
- Working at Heights Qualification
- Advanced scaffolding qualifications and/or Qual ID 4769 – Erect/dismantle Advanced Tube & Clamp Scaffolding preferred
- Carpentry Red Seal 302A preferred or equivalent
- Willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts (weekends/holidays)
- Eligible to work in Canada and Canadian equivalency for foreign education, if applicable
- Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; tech/computer comfortable; self-starter
- Safety/environmental compliance focus; Health and Safety experience an asset
- Technical: documentation/records, interpret drawings/manuals/tools, troubleshoot
- Radiation/contamination control knowledge; pass Radiation Protection training/exams
- Physical: heights/harness, confined spaces, hot/cold; lift 50 lb; forklift/elevated work platforms; valid Ontario G license is an asset
