Reporting to the Health and Wellness Manager, the Attendance Support Supervisor will lead all attendance support programming and provide support to staff and people leaders. Through early intervention, data-informed decision-making, and individualized case management, the Attendance Support Supervisor will support employee well-being while promoting consistent attendance practices that contribute to operational continuity and organizational sustainability.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • Lead the implementation, oversight, and continuous improvement of the Board's Employee Attendance Support Program, ensuring consistent attendance management practices across all schools and departments;
  • Provide confidential, timely, and empathetic case management, supporting early and responsive intervention strategies that promote sustained attendance and employee well-being;
  • Review absences to identify potential accommodation needs, monitor accommodation progress, and recommend adjustments to support successful outcomes;
  • Analyze, report, and present data to identify trends, risks, and program outcomes, informing prevention strategies, strategic planning, and program enhancements;
  • Support employees in accessing applicable leave types, including ESA family caregiver leaves;
  • Lead wellness initiatives that promote a culture of well-being while ensuring records are managed in compliance with privacy and confidentiality requirements;
  • Deliver training and presentations on attendance support practices and serve as a subject-matter expert, providing coaching on attendance support, and leadership responsibilities;
  • Collaborate effectively with union representatives in accordance with collective agreements fostering trust, transparency, and positive labour relations;
  • Manage reporting and documentation software, including managing vendor relations;
  • Occasional travel to various school sites;
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Diploma/degree in Disability Management, Occupational Health, HR, Kinesiology, Rehabilitation, Nursing or related field;
  • A minimum of three years' experience in both disability case management and return to work management in a unionized environment;
  • Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP), Return to Work Disability Manager (RTWDM), National Institute of Disability Management and Research (NIDMAR) Certification, Ergonomics Human Resources Designation, Mental Health Training considered an asset;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resources practices. processes, and legislation specific to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA), Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and Employment Standards Act;
  • Demonstrated success with complex accommodations and mental health cases;
  • Proven experience evaluating physical and cognitive restrictions and assessing their relevance to the essential duties of a position to support accommodations, attendance management and return-to-work planning;
  • Demonstrated empathy, sound judgment, and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information, including personal health information, with discretion and care;
  • Solid critical thinking, analytical, decision-making, and excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and effectively resolve conflict;
  • Superior time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities;
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite of products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applicable software applications;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex information with precision and clarity;
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently, demonstrating strong communication skills across diverse audiences and settings;
  • Experience in a multi-union setting would be a definite asset in this position.

This is a full time, permanent position.

HOURS: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday

LOCATION: Catholic Education Centre, Welland

SALARY RANGE: $97,716.18 - $108,574.33 per annum
