Position Overview

If you're a leader with an investigative mindset who loves to use your analytical skills to solve problems then this is a unique opportunity to provide province‑wide leadership for corporate security operations, including the sustainment and continuous improvement of the corporate security program. As a leader in corporate security, you will shape strategy, influence enterprise‑wide decisions, and lead a high‑performing team responsible for safeguarding a complex, multi‑site organization. Your work will directly support worker safety, operational resilience, and long‑term business objectives—today and into the future.

In this role, you’ll operate at the intersection of strategy and execution while anticipating emerging risks, advancing modern security practices, and driving continuous improvement across policies, programs, and technology. You’ll collaborate closely with internal leaders, external agencies, and community partners, acting as a trusted advisor and subject‑matter expert while managing impactful projects and capital initiatives.

If you thrive in complex environments, enjoy leading, and are motivated by protecting people and assets at scale, this role offers the scope, challenge, and visibility to make a meaningful difference.

In this role, you will:

  • Provides leadership and supports corporate security requirements and protocols, as related to the management of corporate security, planning and support activities. Leads the execution of corporate security strategy including risk assessments, and the development, implementation and maintenance of required security policies, guidelines, standards and procedures. Provides subject matter expertise in the development and implementation of related projects and act as program manager for capital projects to increase organizational capacity and capability.
  • Monitors emerging risks, trends, and external developments, and assesses the potential impact on current and future operational needs. Develops and drives priorities for corporate security improvements that align with business priorities and corporate objectives. Stays informed on technological advancements and identifies opportunities to introduce new tools and systems that enhance corporate security.
  • Manages capital and maintenance security requirements through assigned personnel and contractors. Ensures emergency plans and procedures, as related to security, are created, developed, implemented, and maintained.
  • Provides oversight to multiple overlapping projects including maintenance activities that involve the development and the implementation of plans that enable the most effective use of resources and limit financial impacts from a project and business perspectives.
  • Conducts or oversees corporate security investigations and acts as a corporate security representative in association with law enforcement and emergency services personnel.
  • Establishes key performance indicators and service level agreements for driving performance of corporate security.
  • Identifies the use of applicable policies, patterns and practices to ensure the evolution of corporate security management practices. Leads assessment of emerging risks and trends, evaluates the impact of these risks as related to current and future corporate needs and projects. Develops long-range plans designed to maintain cost effectiveness balanced with risk for corporate security.
  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, operational teams, external agencies, and business partners. Provides consultative support on corporate security matters and oversee vendor relationships, including the management of corporate security contracts and performance expectations.
  • Identifies and resolves complex security escalations, issues related to project work and other matters involving financial and operational impacts. Identifies and implements best practice processes and provides guidance and knowledge transfer to company personnel. Maintains an ongoing awareness of security standards, best practices, and developments in the security industry.
  • Manages a team of professionals within the department; conducts regular performance reviews, sets clear objectives, and provides coaching and feedback to support individual growth and career development. Manages budgets, staffing resources, and financial planning, while influencing overall business strategies.

What it takes:

  • A university degree in business administration, law, law enforcement, or public administration plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in developing investigative strategies, conducting investigations of a complex and sensitive nature in all levels of the corporate security environment with multiple sites.
  • Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential or sensitive matters.
  • Expertise in interpreting and applying the provisions of all Federal, Provincial, and Municipal statutes, including the Occupational Health & Safety Act, the BC Human Rights Code and other employment-related legislation and policies.
  • Exceptional communication and project management skills to engage with stakeholders across the business as you lead corporate security strategies.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive, and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
