Job description
Position Summary

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Assisted Living Coordinator manages the administrative functions of the facility and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Assisted Living facility and acts as a resource to the volunteers and residents of the facility. The Assisted Living Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating and facilitating implementation of recreation and social activities and for providing support services to residents, within a homelike environment, including assisting with the activities of daily living.

Must have current registration with the BC Care Aide Registry

Qualfications
•Graduation from a recognized Community Home Support Worker and/or Residential Care program plus one (1) year recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Class V Driver’s License

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to establish and maintain a rapport with clients
• Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients
• Ability to help clients with money management
• Ability to supervise.
• Leadership skills.
