- Coaches and develops team members and team leaders, providing day to day direction and guidance, including performance management and training and development;
- Approves goals of Team Members or Team Leaders while ensuring alignment to goals and objectives and assessing their performance

- Understands and anticipates mid-term, highly complex and/or specialized customer needs and conducts needs assessments
- Works with established policies/procedures to solve complex matters within the store(s), department and/or function
- Applies broad based level of operational knowledge, functional, commodity, store or divisional direction, and managerial skills to oversee work requirements and service delivery, quality, and timeliness of delivery

- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with multiple-level contacts across multiple departments, stores, divisions, and/or the CRS

- Resolves highly complex, diverse and specialized issues with impact on the department, commodity/store(s), division, CRS members, or customers, escalating unique issues with recommendations to higher levels for resolution
- Investigates and recommends the usage of new or unconventional problem solving or research techniques to the next level
- Establishes guideline/practices to mitigate problems/issues within a function, department, commodity/store(s) or division
Continuous Improvement / Innovation
- Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of work processes and procedures utilizing innovative approaches
- Contributes to and champions continuous improvement initiatives within a function, commodity/store(s), or division
Decision Making
- Develops and ensures execution of function/program, commodity/store(s), or division goals/objectives
- May make recommendations into highly complex and/or specialized business-related decisions and may provide recommendations in the selection and implementation of new methodologies
- Prepare the annual budget for the function, commodity/store(s), or division, including the achievement of budgeted goals. May provide input into the departmental budget.
Risk Management
- Responds to and may oversee the resolution of situations to contain/mitigate function, commodity/store(s), or divisional risk in accordance with established guidelines/procedures/ practices
- Alerts/coordinates necessary resources and provides expertise on potential risks; develops function, commodity/store(s), or divisional contingency plans with approval from higher levels
- Risks associated with service delivery and managerial work issues of significant risk are contained with checks/balances
- Requires significant reactive and proactive risk management/damage control related to aspects of service delivery
Scope of Knowledge, Work & Experience
· 10 years retail Agro and leadership experience.
· Prior knowledge and products in the area of agronomy, crop protection products and fertilizer.
· Familiar with reading financial reports and making corrective actions.
· Knowledge on inventory management processes.
· Knowledge of environmental operational standards.
· Familiar with labour relations best practices.
· Familiar with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and practices.
· A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
· An understanding of Co-op policies and procedures and other operational concerns facing the organization.
· Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
· High integrity, accountability, and confidentiality.
· Well organized and able to obtain high levels of productivity with minimal supervision.
· Able to communicate effectively both written and orally.
· A valid Class 5 Driver’s License and willingness to travel to locations within the Central Plains Co-op trading area.
· Willing to obtain and maintain all licence required
