- Markham, ON On-site
- $65,000 – $75,000
- Profit sharing program
- Full benefits
A well-established, profitable Canadian manufacturer with over 50 years in business is looking for a reliable, detail-driven accounting professional to join a tight-knit Markham office. Part of a larger, well-resourced corporate group, this company punches above its weight in terms of the support, infrastructure, and finance expertise available to whoever sits in this seat. This is a role with real ownership, real variety, and the kind of stability that is increasingly hard to find.
WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT:
1. Standalone ownership with a full team behind you
You are the accounting lead on the ground in Markham, but you are never on your own. A full finance team at the parent company, including a Controller and Assistant Controller, is actively available to support, guide, and collaborate. You get the autonomy of a standalone role with the safety net of a much larger organization.
2. A company that actually looks after its people
Profit sharing, full benefits, tuition reimbursement, and a culture where people stay for decades. This is not a revolving door. People build careers here and the company's track record backs that up, including one of their top five revenue years ever in a challenging market year.
3. Room to grow if you want it
Do great work here and doors open. The parent company is actively growing and has a track record of recognizing talent across the group. For the right person, this is a starting point, not a ceiling.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Own the full bi-weekly payroll cycle end-to-end for a workforce of approximately 100 employees across hourly and salaried pay groups
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor relations and customer collections
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support month-end and year-end close
- Monitor bank balances and prepare management reports on customers, sales, and purchases
- Coordinate documentation for the annual external audit
- Report on group health, RRSP, WSIB, and HST; act as backup administrator for benefits and RRSP programs
- Maintain bookkeeping for a related holding company (minimal activity)
- Assist with an upcoming accounting system migration to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 + years of hands-on accounting experience, including full-cycle payroll
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or a comparable accounting system

- Someone who genuinely takes pride in accuracy and getting things done the right way
THE CULTURE:
This is a 10-person office (100 total with plant) inside a company that has been operating for over 50 years. People here do not job-hop. The environment is collaborative, friendly, and built on genuine relationships. You will have your own private office, the active support of a knowledgeable finance team, and a GM who is present and accessible day-to-day. The company's values are not a poster on the wall.
