Reporting to the Manager of Capital Budgets and Analysis, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the development, maintenance and enhancement of the Capital budget process and the City s Development Charges. This supervisory position will coordinate the multi-year budget process and support management in the analysis of issues pertaining to financial planning, policies, budgeting and forecasting. This position performs a key role in the development of the multi-year Capital Budget. This position will assist in the development and implementation of procedures for the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts. Additional responsibilities include the maintenance of interfaces with the corporate financial software and will ensure the integrity of the general ledger. Development, maintenance, enhancements and training for the City's budgeting software, Questica, will also be a key responsibility. Day-to-day supervision of assigned staff within the Capital Budget Division will be a requirement as well as any special projects as directed.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a four (4) year post-secondary degree with an emphasis in accounting, business and/or finance or equivalent
- Possess a Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA)
- Three (3) to five (5) years' of financial experience in a municipal setting
- Excellent management, supervisory and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, JDEdwards financial software
- Possess a valid driver's license in good standing during the course of employment
- IMS 200 Certification or equivalent (ICS 200) is considered an asset. Subject to course availability, certification must be achieved within the first year of employment
