Adecco is currently hiring a Geotechnical Engineer for a full-time opportunity based in Burlington, ON (hybrid work model). This role is ideal for an experienced engineering professional who thrives in both technical and project leadership environments, with a strong background in geotechnical investigations and design.
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will lead and support a wide range of projects across infrastructure and building sectors. You will be responsible for managing investigations, performing technical analysis, and providing practical engineering solutions from early planning stages through to construction.
- Pay Rate: $100,000 - $150,000/year
- Location: Burlington, ON (Hybrid)
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities- Lead and manage geotechnical investigations for projects including land development, municipal infrastructure, and building construction
- Conduct and review technical analyses such as slope stability, settlement, and soil behaviour assessments
- Provide design input for foundations, excavation support systems, retaining structures, and earthworks
- Interpret field and laboratory data to develop engineering recommendations and solutions
- Prepare detailed technical reports, geotechnical assessments, and supporting documentation
- Support projects during construction through site visits, inspections, and responding to contractor inquiries
- Participate in peer reviews and provide technical guidance on geotechnical matters
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project success
- Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Provide input on risk assessments and mitigation strategies related to geotechnical conditions
Requirements- Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
- P.Eng. designation in Ontario or eligibility to obtain
- 5+ years of experience for intermediate-level candidates or 10+ years for senior-level candidates
- Strong experience in geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design
- Familiarity with infrastructure and building projects such as roads, high-rise developments, and commercial construction
- Strong understanding of geotechnical standards, guidelines, and best practices in Ontario
- Experience interpreting field data and preparing technical reports
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with client-facing experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Valid driver's license and willingness to attend project sites as required
