This role will be responsible for leading and overseeing environmental monitoring activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and project-specific environmental plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and provide leadership to a team of Qualified Environmental Persons (QEPs) and Environmental Monitors, including both Owner’s team and contractor personnel
- Ensure all environmental monitoring activities are conducted in alignment with project permits and regulatory requirements
- Oversee implementation and compliance with the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and Sediment Erosion Management Plan (SEMP)
- Coordinate environmental activities between internal teams and contractors to maintain consistent standards and reporting
- Monitor performance and provide guidance to ensure best practices in environmental management are followed
- Identify and address any environmental risks or compliance issues in a timely manner
Please note - This is a site-based opportunity, Monday to Friday, in Princeton BC.
Requirements
- Relevant education in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field
- Experience managing environmental teams on large-scale construction or industrial projects
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with CEMP, SEMP, and environmental monitoring best practices
- Proven leadership and communication skills
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, including contractors and owner’s representatives
- Background in construction, mining, or industrial project environments
