Description & Requirements

who we are

lululemon is an innovative performance apparel company for yoga, running, training, and other athletic pursuits. Setting the bar in technical fabrics and functional design, we create transformational products and experiences that support people in moving, growing, connecting, and being well. We owe our success to our innovative product, emphasis on stores, commitment to our people, and the incredible connections we make in every community we're in. As a company, we focus on creating positive change to build a healthier, thriving future. In particular, that includes creating an equitable, inclusive and growth-focused environment for our people.

about this team

The Data & AI Security team is responsible for protecting the organization's most critical data and AI assets while enabling responsible, scalable innovation. We build and operate Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and AI Security Posture Management (AISPM) capabilities across a complex, global ecosystem. Our work is highly crossfunctional, partnering with Data & Analytics, Engineering, Legal, Privacy, and GRC teams to embed security by design while keeping the organization fast, compliant, and resilient. Our focus is on visibility, prevention, and remediation at scale, balancing strong security controls with minimum business friction.

The Intermediate Security Engineer, Data Security, focuses on the operational execution of DSPM and DLP capabilities, including scanning, tuning, validation, and support of remediation efforts. This role is critical to ensuring data security signals are accurate, actionable, and scalable across the enterprise.

core responsibilities

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will own security engineering for specific systems and platforms, designing and implementing security controls that balance protection, performance, and usability. You will build, test, and maintain security solutions including automation, libraries, and tooling, apply secure coding practices, and support security testing and validation. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to integrate security into system design and delivery, drive improvements to security control effectiveness, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to high-quality, scalable security implementations.

Select responsibilities include:

  • Build comprehensive security systems implementing authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, secure identity services, and security enforcement
  • Develop security code and tools creating security platforms and libraries, scanners and detectors, security frameworks and policies, and security automation tools
  • Implement security at scale building security controls that work across multiple systems
  • Conduct security code reviews reviewing code for security vulnerabilities and implementation issues
  • Test security thoroughly performing security testing, penetration testing, and code security analysis

qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; security certification preferred
  • 4-8 years of experience designing and implementing security solutions, building security platforms and automations, or embedding security into systems, or equivalent
  • Proven experience implementing comprehensive security controls across systems including multi-layered defence mechanisms; demonstrated ability to build advanced authentication systems including multi-factor authentication and identity management solutions
  • Experience writing security-critical code including security libraries and middleware; track record of leading security code reviews, establishing secure coding standards, and identifying architectural security issues
  • Proven ability to conduct comprehensive penetration testing and security code analysis; experience building comprehensive security tools including scanners, testing frameworks, and validation systems
  • Hands-on experience with data discovery, classification, and access analysis across cloud data platforms, including identifying sensitive data, validating scan accuracy, tuning detection rules, and supporting remediation workflows; experience with DSPM, DLP, or data governance tooling is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of securing data in modern cloud and analytics environments, including IAM and role based access controls, encryption at rest and in transit, secrets management, and service to service access patterns for data stores and pipelines.

must haves
  • Acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for your life.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovate to achieve great results.
  • Communicate with honesty and kindness and create the space for others to do the same.
  • Lead with courage, knowing the possibility of greatness is bigger than the fear of failure.
  • Foster connection by putting people first and building trusting relationships.
  • Integrate fun and joy as a way of being and working, aka doesn't take yourself too seriously.
