About the Role

The Senior Vice President, Technical Services is a strategic executive leadership role within the Corporate Development Group, responsible for shaping and leading the technical vision and strategy for the North America region. This role reports to the Chief Technical Officer and oversees North America technical due diligence, engineering, construction, operations, and asset optimization, supporting M&A, development, and operational initiatives aligned with the Company’s growth and decarbonization strategy.


The incumbent brings deep expertise in renewable energy technologies that include hydro, wind, solar, energy storage, microgrids, distributed energy resources, biogas, green hydrogen, and emissions abatement, and acts as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership and technical oversight for all North America activities related to the assessment, deployment, and optimization of renewable and low-carbon energy technologies.
  • Lead the North America Technical Services effort covering technologies aligned with the Company’s growth and decarbonization goals.
  • Drive technical strategy and insights in support of business development, investment decisions, M&A, capital recycling, and financing activities.
  • Lead the evaluation of emerging technologies, including performance, cost curves, commercial potential, and alignment with long-term business objectives.
  • Oversee technical due diligence, value engineering, and risk identification for all North America acquisition and development initiatives globally.
  • Guide decision-making on technology selection, facility design, and equipment configuration to ensure long-term performance and value creation.
  • Partner closely with the Investment, Development, and Asset Management teams to drive North America project success from origination through to operations.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement by sharing best practices across the portfolio and ensuring knowledge transfer.
  • Serve as a thought leader on the implications of evolving regulations, market dynamics, and climate-related physical and transition risks.
  • Represent the Company with key stakeholders, including regulators, partners, investors, and industry groups, enhancing the Company’s role in global energy transition.


Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; advanced technical or business degrees considered an asset.
  • Recognized professional engineering designation (e.g., P.Eng.).
  • 15+ years of progressive technical leadership experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or related industries, with a proven track record in executive roles.
  • Extensive experience with the design, development, and operation of renewable energy and storage technologies, including a broad understanding of energy transition drivers.
  • Expertise in conducting technical due diligence, feasibility studies, and managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of technology markets, cost trends, supplier ecosystems, and equipment performance metrics.
  • Experience influencing investment decisions, managing risk, and leading technical aspects of complex transactions.
  • Strong business acumen with a demonstrated ability to integrate technical and commercial perspectives.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate at the executive and board level.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.


Note: Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Brookfield’s identity. This position requires the employee to be on-site to perform most effectively.


Salary: $250,000 - $330,000, bonus eligible.
