Job description
Overview Our client, a well-established and growing organization in the real estate sector, is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead and oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions. This is a leadership role suited for a hands-on professional with deep technical expertise and a strong background in property accounting. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of progressive accounting experience , with advanced knowledge of Yardi and a proven ability to manage financial operations in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee the full-cycle accounting function , including general ledger, AP/AR, and month-end close Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Manage and optimize financial reporting within Yardi Supervise and mentor the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency Oversee property and portfolio-level reporting , including variance analysis and performance insights Lead the budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with senior leadership Ensure compliance with IFRS/ASPE , tax regulations, and internal policies Manage cash flow, treasury functions , and financial planning initiatives Coordinate with external auditors and oversee the year-end audit process Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and process improvements Partner with operations and asset management teams to support strategic decision-making Qualifications 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with a strong focus on real estate or property management Advanced, hands-on experience with Yardi (required) CPA designation (or equivalent) strongly preferred Proven leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS or ASPE) Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Highly detail-oriented with the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on What's in it for You Leadership role within a growing and stable organization Opportunity to drive process improvements and financial strategy Competitive compensation package, including bonus potential High visibility with executive leadership
