Queen's IT Services is seeking a Junior Marketing Systems Analyst to manage and administer the marketing automation platform, with a focus on Salesforce Marketing Cloud. The role requires a deep understanding of the platform's capabilities, a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills. This role will also engage in building a strong community of best practice around digital engagement tactics and methods.
This position administers and supports servers, storage, and technology services. This position assists with patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing the various server-based systems, and monitors and administers critical systems. This position participates in test plan development, implementation, and resolution during system upgrades. This position also writes technical documentation for program maintenance and non-technical documentation for end-user support.
Other responsibilities may include configuring and customizing the platform to meet business requirements; assisting end-users to create and maintain email campaigns, journey builders, and automation workflows; develop and implement data management strategies to ensure accurate and effective targeting; provide guidance and support to Queen's Mar/Comm teams on platform best practices; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the platform; stay up-to-date with platform updates and new features, and identify opportunities for improvement.
To excel in this role, you should have a good understanding of email, social and event marketing concepts and marketing automation systems. You should also possess excellent communication skills, as you'll be collaborating with various teams across the organization.
Job Description
What you will do
• Administers and supports servers, storage, and technology services.
• Assists with patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing the various server-based systems.
• Monitors and administers critical systems to provide continuous, uninterrupted service.
• Oversees User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and participates in the analysis and problem resolution activities.
• Participates in test plan development, implementation and resolution during system upgrades.
• Identifies challenges to project schedules, missed deliverables, incomplete tasks or inaccurate results, and resolves or escalates as required.
• Contributes to the development of training materials and/or provides or participates in training delivery.
• Writes technical documentation for program maintenance and non-technical documentation for end-user support.
• Participates in technical specifications requirements gathering and application design meetings.
• Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.
Required Education
• Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree, or equivalent in marketing preferred. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.
Required Experience
• More than 2 years and up to and including 3 years of experience.
• Experience developing and managing marketing plans considered an asset.
• Experience in developing and/or maintaining Enterprise Systems considered an asset.
• Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
