IT Applications Manager, NetSuite Platform

Working Location: Remote (Canada) or can be hybrid if in Toronto

Position Summary:

As the IT Applications Manager, NetSuite Platform, you will serve as the primary owner of our NetSuite ERP platform across Newtimes’ growing portfolio of North American retail and third-party logistics brands. This role will lead the ongoing optimization, governance, and scalability of NetSuite while supporting the onboarding of newly acquired brands and evolving business processes.

This position requires a strong blend of technical NetSuite expertise, business process understanding, and platform leadership. The ideal candidate is comfortable working hands-on within NetSuite, collaborating with cross functional technical and business teams, including merchandising, retail, finance and technical integration and architecture teams, and helping build the future enterprise applications team as the company grows.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary owner of the NetSuite ERP platform across multiple brands and business units
• Manage the configuration, optimization, and ongoing evolution of NetSuite modules and functionality
• Ensure system scalability to support new brand acquisitions and organizational growth
• Own and govern master data integrity across critical domains, including item master, customers, vendors, and financial dimensions
• Establish and maintain standards for roles and permissions, workflows and automation, system configuration and data integrity
• Coordinate NetSuite upgrades, release management, and feature adoption
• Develop and maintain the NetSuite platform roadmap aligned with enterprise goals
• Identify opportunities to improve automation, reporting, process efficiency, data visibility etc.
• Evaluate new NetSuite features, modules and third-party tools
• Drive continuous improvement across warehouse management, finance, merchandising, retail and operations workflows
• Monitor platform performance and system usage metrics

Brand Onboarding & M&A Support:

• Lead NetSuite onboarding efforts for newly acquired brands
• Partner with stakeholders to standardize and align business processes across brands
• Support data migration, configuration setup, and process validation
• Ensure consistent system design across business units and subsidiaries
• Help scale the platform to support ongoing acquisitions and growth

Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Management:

• Partner closely with Finance, Operations, and other business teams
• Lead discovery sessions to gather and document business requirements
• Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories and technical requirements
• Facilitate prioritization of enhancement requests
• Provide guidance on best practices and system capabilities

Integrations & Technical Collaboration:

• Work closely with integration and architecture teams to support NetSuite integrations
• Validate technical feasibility of enhancements
• Support system architecture alignment across enterprise platforms

Governance, Documentation & Training:

• Maintain system documentation and configuration standards
• Lead change management activities for new features and enhancements
• Provide end-user training and enablement resources
• Ensure compliance with internal governance and audit requirements
• Support data quality and system integrity initiatives

Team Development & Leadership:

• Help define the future structure of the enterprise applications team
• Participate in hiring and mentoring NetSuite developers, analysts, and administrators
• Establish development standards and best practices
• Support knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration
• Contribute to long-term enterprise applications strategy

Preferred Experience

• 5+ years of experience working with NetSuite ERP
• Hands-on experience configuring NetSuite, including workflows, saved searches, SuiteScript, forms and records, reporting
• Strong understanding of ERP-driven business processes, including finance, order management, procurement, inventory or operations
• Experience working with integrated systems and middleware platforms
• Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-brand environments
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver scalable solutions
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• NetSuite certifications such as SuiteFoundation, Administrator, ERP Consultant etc.
• Experience with integrations using REST/SOAP APIs
• Experience supporting acquisitions or system rollouts
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies
• Experience with data migration and system implementation projects
• Experience in retail, distribution, manufacturing, or multi-brand environments
