Job description
Company: Pontiac Respite Intermediate Center o/a Valentine Center Business information: We are a residence for elderly people suffering from Dementia. We have comfortable and nicely decorated rooms which brings a warm ambiance for our residents. We have an extraordinary team of employees who, each day come to work with a smile and are ready to offer the best possible care. Business Address: 1229 Hwy 148, Campbell’s Bay QC, J0X 1K0 Work Location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort Perform other duties related to personal care Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse Serve meal trays and feed patients Deliver messages, reports, requisitions and specimens between departments Make beds and maintain patients' rooms Supervise patients' exercise routines Bathe, dress and groom patients Answer call signals to determine patients' needs Administer first aid in emergency situations Requirements: Education: Secondary school education is required. Experience: At least 1 year of professional experience is required. If the candidate does not have the minimum experience, completion of a nursing aide OR health care aide college or private institutional program, OR completion of a college nursing orderly program and supervised practical training is required. Moving Patients Safety Principles (MPSP) training, First Aid, CPR and Health Care Aide Certificates are required. Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling Personal suitability: Client focus, Dependability, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Flexibility, Initiative, Judgement, Organized, Reliability, Team player, Patience Weight handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) Languages: English is required Salary: $22,10 per hour, 30-40 hours per week Important information: Flexibility on schedule is required. The working hours can vary according to the business needs. The employee will be working 8- 12 hours per day. The regular day shift is 7:00am to 7:00pm. Mid-morning shift from 10:00 am to 6:30pm, and the night shift is from 7:00 pm to 8:00 am. The employee will rotate between these work shifts. Overtime may be required. Employee must be available for weekends and holidays, as needed.
