We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Clinic Shipping & Operations Technician within our PMRI Clinic located in Scarborough, Ontario. In this role, you will be responsible for performing clinical procedures and ensuring the sample handling, bundling & shipping is done in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate and perform sample bundling and shipment procedures according to SOPs, lab manuals, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all materials and supplies required for sample handling, bundling, and shipping are available and prepared in advance.
• Prepare samples for shipment by labeling, packaging, bundling, and verifying documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Confirm that all required preparations are completed prior to shipment, including documentation review, packaging requirements, and storage conditions.
• Arrange and monitor proper storage of samples after bundling and prior to shipment to maintain sample integrity.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all shipping and sample-handling activities in accordance with GCP, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
• Perform clinical procedures such as but not limited to: study check-in procedures, subject and belongings search, sample pick up and storage, washroom monitoring, meal monitoring, etc.
• Perform general clinical duties to prepare for the clinical study (i.e. tube labelling, bunk room preparation, set up bleeding stations, etc.).
• Perform general cleaning duties (i.e. decontaminate workstations and equipment such as centrifuges and fridges).
Job Knowledge
• High school graduate or post-secondary education.
• College degree, B.Sc. or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in biological sample handling & shipping is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Good organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Must be able to work flexible hours depending on business requirements.
• Basic proficiency in computer usage and software applications.
