Job Description
Reporting to the Manager, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) Specialty Clinics, and working in collaboration with the clinic lead and multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will support the development, growth, and day-to-day operations of the WSIB specialized care program (i.e. musculoskeletal, occupational health assessment program, neurology). This clinic is an outpatient assessment and treatment program for injured workers who sustained work-related injuries and require interdisciplinary assessment, diagnostics and rehabilitation services to assist them in their return to work and function.
The role requires a mixture of clinical work and administrative responsibilities including operational and staff oversight and liaison with key stakeholders. You will work primarily out of the musculoskeletal clinic and outpatient rehab areas as part of the interdisciplinary team to provide evidence based, outcome oriented care and recommendations (i.e. assessment, management, education, etc.). You will practice in accordance with the kinesiology standards of practice and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Kinesiologist of Ontario. You will provide assessment and therapy services in keeping within the College guidelines and standards of practice for WSIB Specialized care program workers for issues that have been referred by WSIB through the Trillium Health Partners (THP)/Osler partnership.
Accountabilities:
- Active participation in the return to work planning with the interdisciplinary team and multiple stakeholders
- Work within our WSIB THP/Osler partnership in the coordination of WSIB services with the appropriate health care and administrative professionals to:
- Review and interpretation of reports
- Facilitating conferences as needed
- Participation in data collection and analysis of business benchmarks and clinical outcome measures
- Participation in program planning
- Continuous quality improvement and evaluation
- Required to support regular patient care stream through the outpatient Rehab Department based on operational needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree from a kinesiology, human kinetics
- Licensed by The College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
- Minimum one year of relevant work experience
- Certification to conduct Functional Abilities Evaluation (FAE) is an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of current medial assessment techniques and medical terminology
- Demonstrated knowledge of client assessment, management and education
- Demonstrates knowledge of exercise guidelines and exercise prescription writing
- Proficiency in computer skills and data management required (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word and Access)
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution and decision-making skills required
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient and family-centred care
- Demonstrated excellent customer service, organizational and critical-thinking skills required
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development as it applies to the profession and related field
- Demonstrated ability to work in a stressful environment
- Exemplary clinical practice within an inter-professional team to develop appropriate strategies for patient care
- Ability to prioritize patient care needs and make autonomous decisions
- Ability to promote a healthy work environment and practice excellent client safety guidelines
- Knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

- May be required to travel and work between all Osler sites
- Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
Additional Information
Hours: Currently Days/Evenings, Monday to Friday with variable start/end times (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Minimum: $41.76 per hour
Maximum: $53.50 per hour
