  • Graduate level degree in Materials Engineering or Materials Science is an asset
  • Professional Engineering License or the ability to become licensed in the province of Ontario is a requirement

  • In-depth knowledge of materials science (metals, polymers, ceramics, and composites), microscopy (optical, digital, and scanning electron), fractography, metallography, microstructure analysis, mechanical property testing, and other materials characterization, with hands-on materials laboratory experience preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude for component disassembly and/or machine shop experience is an asset
  • Experience conducting technical literature reviews
  • Proficiency in digital photography to document sites and evidence
  • Ability to produce neat and legible handwritten notes, diagrams and sketches
  • Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office (MS Word, Outlook & Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, and a good command of the English language
  • Well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities to meet deadlines, and a demonstrated track record of taking projects to successful completion
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to discuss project budgets with clients and maintain continuous communications throughout a project
  • A positive, self-driven attitude with a willingness to learn and collaborate with colleagues
