The Volunteer’s Role
Join us in empowering Venezuelan migrants, refugees, and vulnerable Peruvian communities by building their capacity for employability.
We place special focus on uplifting women, LGBTQ2IA+ individuals, and indigenous peoples, aiming to boost sustainable income-generating activities that strengthen economic stability and self-reliance. Cuso is looking for a passionate professional like you to drive meaningful change through our development projects in key Peruvian regions such as Lima, Piura, Arequipa, and Ica.
This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to collaborate closely with youth and marginalized groups, helping them acquire the vital skills and knowledge needed to secure and sustain formal employment, fostering lasting social and economic inclusion.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Assist in the execution of the job placement training program, aiming to complete 12 such programs.
- Provide support for the implementation of the Psychosocial Support Program, targeting 100 participants to successfully finish the program.
- Support the delivery of the MUCURA Program with the goal of having 50 participants complete the program.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Experience with livelihood issues and social development projects.
- Proficient in office software tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Job placement training, vocational guidance, career counseling, and income-generating activities
Essential Background:
- Experience in the planning and execution of social projects.
- Proven experience in facilitating courses or workshops.
- Knowledge of the migratory and economic situation of the Venezuelan refugee and migrant population.

Volunteer Support and Requirements
Support Package
Cuso International provides a comprehensive support package to ensure volunteers maintain a modest and healthy lifestyle aligned with local standards. This includes:
- Monthly living allowance
- Accommodation
- Health insurance (including required vaccinations and antimalarial medication)
- Round-trip airfare and visa/work permit costs
- Pre-placement, in-country and reintegration training (along with access to self-directed materials and online resources)
- Ongoing local support
- Access to the Employee Assistance Program during and after placement
Selection and Screening
If you are shortlisted, you will need to:
- Confirm passport or permanent resident details for travel
- Provide two professional references and one personal reference
- Complete a language assessment during the initial phone interview
- Pass a police check and medical clearance before departure
- Comply with anti-terrorism checks
- Agree to uphold the Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy and Code of Conduct
