Electrical Foreman

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced, dependable Electrical Foreman to lead the electrical scope of work on a significant institutional project in Mississauga. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a strong field presence, the ability to coordinate crews, and a track record of successfully delivering commercial and institutional electrical work on time and on budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead, supervise, and coordinate a crew of IBEW electricians and apprentices on a busy institutional job site
• Interpret and work from electrical drawings, specifications, and single-line diagrams
• Plan daily and weekly work activities to maintain project schedule and productivity targets
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, site safety plans, and company standards
• Coordinate with the General Contractor, project management team, and other trades
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce a culture of safety on-site
• Track and manage material deliveries, tool inventory, and on-site resources
• Identify and communicate scope changes, RFIs, and potential issues to the Project Manager promptly
• Mentor apprentices and junior electricians in accordance with IBEW standards and best practices
• Complete daily foreman reports, timesheets, and other required documentation accurately
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification (309A) — Licensed Electrician required
• Minimum 5 years of experience working as an Electrical Foreman in commercial or institutional construction
• Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and applicable regulations
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
• Proven track record of stable employment — limited job movement preferred and valued
• Experience working under IBEW collective agreements and familiarity with ECAO standards
• Solid understanding of low and medium-voltage systems, switchgear, and distribution
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
• WHMIS, Working at Heights, and First Aid certification considered an asset
• Excellent communication, organizational, and team leadership skills
