Job description

Step into the role of Waste Management Technician, specializing in processing facilities. Focus on waste categorization and compliance, while utilizing your knowledge of safety regulations and teamwork.

This position reports directly to the Containerized Waste Supervisor. You will be tasked with characterizing waste streams and ensuring that all documentation is in alignment with federal and provincial regulations. Strong attention to detail is crucial, as is the ability to work in a dynamic team environment while adhering to safety protocols in waste handling and processing.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Categorize and analyze waste based on fieldwork
  • Ensure compliance documentation is accurate
  • Operate necessary equipment such as vacuum trucks
  • Perform general housekeeping and safety inspections
  • Maintain accurate waste inventories and data records

Requirements :

  • Post-secondary education in Chemistry or Chemical Technology
  • Relevant experience or internships are a plus
  • Competent computer skills with Google Sheets / Docs
  • Strong organizational, safety, and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, and weekends
