Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic performs all of the pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs and maintenance to the equipment.

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic will:

• Install, repair, assemble and maintain plant machinery, equipment and structures
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints
• Work from complex blueprints, shop handbooks, layouts, and other specifications (written or verbal) to determine the materials and working procedures needed in the maintenance of plant machinery, equipment and structures
• Welds, brazes, scrapes, solders, cuts various types of metals necessary for maintenance repairs and fabrication of new components and equipment
• Conducts routine maintenance and safety checks
• Determines cause of breakdown or required repairs, reconditioning or replacements
• Prepare and submit maintenance reports

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic should have:

• Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting various types of industrial machinery
• Experience reading blueprints, diagrams and drawings
• Experience and basic knowledge of computers to enter preventive maintenance activities
• Experience using hand tools and power tools
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good time management skills

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED
• Must possess an Industrial Mechanic Millwright 433a Red Seal certificate
• 5 years of related work experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate using English language
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis
• Able to lift and manipulate heavy equipment

Additional Information

Hourly Wage: The hourly wage for this position is $44.98

Hours of Work: 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
