The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Commercial Account Manager to join their team in Kelowna. This role is ideal for a commercial insurance professional who enjoys building strong client relationships, managing renewals, and supporting the placement of coverage for a diverse commercial book of business. Working closely with producers and marketing colleagues, you will help deliver tailored insurance solutions, provide day-to-day service support, and contribute to client retention through responsive, detail-oriented service.

This position is well suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings a positive and professional attitude, and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.

About You
You are a service-focused commercial insurance professional who enjoys being part of a collaborative team and takes pride in delivering exceptional client support. You are organized, proactive, and confident managing competing priorities in a busy office. You communicate clearly, pay close attention to detail, and are comfortable handling a broad range of account management responsibilities.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain strong retention of an existing book of business through exceptional client service
  • Collaborate with producers and marketers to assess client needs and recommend suitable coverage solutions
  • Organize and attend internal renewal strategy meetings
  • Attend client meetings as required
  • Respond promptly to client emails and telephone inquiries
  • Prepare client service documents including renewal summaries, proposals, and underwriting submissions
  • Maintain monthly expiry lists and follow up on project expiries
  • Monitor abeyances and follow up for outstanding information
  • Update key client spreadsheets, including statements of values and equipment schedules
  • Prepare correspondence and send client documentation using established templates
  • Act as a liaison with marketing on placements, renewals, and mid-term policy changes
  • Handle the complete brokering process for small to mid-sized policies within the book
  • Review leases and contract documents and provide coverage guidance to clients
  • Provide bid costing support for clients prior to tender closings and recommend appropriate coverage
  • Complete certificate requests
  • Recommend additional coverage where appropriate
  • Quote and issue premium finance contracts as requested
  • Follow up on accounts receivable
  • Adhere to internal policies and procedures
  • Maintain continuing education credits required for licensing
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as needed

Necessary Qualifications Include

  • Level 2 Insurance License
  • 3 to 5 years of Commercial Lines experience
  • Construction insurance experience considered an asset
  • CAIB, CIP, FCIP, or CRM designation considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Applied Epic
  • Professional and approachable demeanor with strong business acumen
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize independently
  • Strong attendance and reliability
